The Dear Digital Equity (DDE) Educator Team facilitated a workshop at the FREE Washington State Digital Equity Summit (WSDES) May 29-31, 2023 located in Wenatchee, WA. Hosted by Goodwill Connect, in partnership with Department of Commerce funded Digital Navigation Programs. The Summit originated as a Goodwill Connect Team Retreat, and has evolved into a nationwide summit. It was a practitioner driven and organized event with the goal of convening, connecting and coordinating to make Washington state an inclusive online, digital, and technological place.

WHAT WE DID? We spoke with 25-30 people and asked them to share their perspectives on digital navigation programs and the people they serve by participating in a gallery walk. A gallery walk is a discussion technique used to create a visual of responses. Frequently used to generate spontaneous and energetic responses to sometimes challenging questions.

Gallery walk Instructions: People were asked to write on post it notes and place those thoughts on a bigger piece of paper. People we asked to move around the room in groups and post answers to the questions we have put at the top of the poster.  After we got our thoughts out we categorized or grouped up our ideas and had a discussion. You are welcome to view the post its (shown below) that we created at the workshop.
